Safe Power at Every Plug
Outlets are the most-touched part of your home’s electrical system. They’re also the most common starting point for electrical fires.
Every outlet job at Phase 3 is handled by a licensed electrician under Class A Master Electrician supervision. We serve Newport News and the full Hampton Roads area. We’re A+ rated with the BBB, and we do the work right the first time.
We replace worn, loose, and burnt outlets. We install GFCI protection in bathrooms, kitchens, garages, outdoor locations, and unfinished basements. We upgrade bedroom circuits with AFCI breakers to catch arc faults before they cause a fire.
We also install tamper-resistant outlets for homes with small children, USB-integrated outlets in kitchens and home offices, and dedicated 20-amp circuits for appliances, window AC units, and microwaves. We work across Newport News, Hampton, Williamsburg, York County, and the surrounding Hampton Roads cities.
These symptoms usually point to worn contacts, loose terminal screws, missing GFCI protection, or undersized wiring. DIY replacement gets risky fast if the box has aluminum wiring or backstabbed connections. A code-compliant replacement means inspecting what's inside the box, not just swapping the face of it.
Warmth means current is meeting resistance somewhere it shouldn't be. Loose terminal screws, worn contacts, backstabbed wire connections, or an overloaded circuit are the usual causes. Stop using the outlet, flip the breaker, and call us. Warm outlets start house fires.
Yes, wherever water is present. Bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, garages, unfinished basements, and outdoor outlets all require GFCI protection under the current code. It's one of the highest-impact safety upgrades you can add to an older home.
A straight swap is a small job. Adding a new outlet where none exists involves running wire, cutting drywall, and possibly adding a breaker. Final pricing depends on access, wire condition, and code requirements. Contact us for a free quote.
A GFCI protects you from shock when current escapes through water or your body. An AFCI protects your home from fire by detecting the arcing pattern of damaged wire insulation. They solve different problems and often work together.
Yes. We add outlets on kitchen islands, home office walls, garages, attics, and exterior locations. We run new cable, cut the box opening, connect it to the right circuit, and patch the drywall when we're done.
Those outlets are required to be GFCI-protected. Frequent trips usually mean the GFCI is detecting moisture, a damaged cord, or a wiring fault. If trips continue after you test different appliances, the outlet or the wiring behind it needs to be inspected.
